I remember giant Thanksgivings at their house. Seemed like the oldest house in the world with arched doorways and fancy cabinets. There were some games to be made up in the basement and mostly it was just commotion and gravy. Gravy and commotion. I loved the gravy boats. Christmases and Easters and Birthdays at 620 from the beginning of time. More commotion but a friendly smile to sit next to. A good handshake and a 'Dandy'. A crisp $10 bill for a birthday was pretty exciting. There were times I'd do sleep overs or they'd just babysit. Bath times and bed times and exploring basements. Wasn't ever quite as fun as being home with my friends but the memories are warm.
