I'm a very experienced technical developer that would love to work with Tech TV. My latest position was as the Director of Technology of Thriveonline, a 40000 page Web site that provided medical and health tools, advice and information, and that won the Webby Award for best health site two years in a row.
At Thrive, on top of hiring and organizing a team of engineers, I brought content online using Perl, XML, Javascript, HTML, CSS. Thrive was part of the Oxygen Cable Network and I am skilled with bringing video and other convergent technologies such as SMIL, DHTML and Flash online.
My own server, Bagus.org uses extensive custom coding the GSP Java Servelet with Apache to manage large heirarchically organized database driven Web projects. I also completed training in Java from Sun and in Dynamo from ATG. For years I have been managing sites from the UNIX command line as well as through tools such as CVS and Teamsite.
I started working with the Web at Organic Online in San Francisco back in 1994. There I produced and coded more than 30 brand new dot com sites and publishing tools and gained lots of experience with online development. Before that I was a biostatistician with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. I used visual basic to manipulate and report on large data sets I collected during field seasons observing migratory birds. I also play ultimate frisbee to stay in shape and play piano and keyboards to have some fun.
My clients and co-workers have appreciated how my strategic and technical sensibilities result in quality sites delivered on time. The interfaces are intuitive, consistant, cross platform compliant, easy to maintain, and hit the mark.
