Bagus.org offers free publication of links, links to articles and articles to anyone who can write a well documented piece. That's right, it's free.

We don't accept advertisement. We endeavor to remain as neutral as possible... except when it comes to Freedom Of Information issues. Then we might start raising a stink!

Bagus.org wants to help your organization. If you don't have time to enter large amounts of informative material into our database, send us a note. For a reasonable fee, we can help you effectively communicate your messages.

Got something more complex in mind? Do you have a whole database of information you'd like to be a part of Bagus.org? We can create that database for you and link it right into the site. In this way, Bagus.org will be come more than just a source of links and articles. It can become a much more powerful tool. Send us your ideas.

Finally, if you like the technology you see on the site, and you'd like to have us work on a similar... but not necessarily consumer related project for you, let us know and we probably can help out.

The Bagus.org staff has expertise in the following areas:

  • Web site Consulting: With over four years experience making some of the most successful sites on the web, let us come and apply our knowledge to your problem.
  • Hosting of nonprofit and consumer related web sites: We'd love to help get your organization on line. We have a shared T1 internet connection and may be able to host your site in house.
  • Full service Web site design and development: Really, we've built dozens and dozens of Web sites for many Fortune 500 companies. We're hoping those days are behind us, but the experience we got building for them will finally get put to good use when we build YOUR web site together.
  • Development of E-commerce solutions for appropriate product sales: Consumer Action's partnership with Green Home, a provider of E-Commerce solutions for Healthy and Green products can help bring your products to market.
Send Us something about your organization and we'll see if we can help you out.

Designers: on 3/3/1999
Our site is still pretty bare. We kinda like it that way, but our whole design really needs a lot of help. Come with your ideas, your clip art, navigation nose, and photoshop, and we'll give you a lot of freedom to design and direct. One possibility is to give a slightly different design to all the sections for the different issues and industries listed. If you just have an ideasite, we'd love to hear it.

We're not in trouble yet! But we would like some help filing our 501(c)(3) papers to establish ourselves as a real nonprofit. If you have experience doing that or know of someone who might be able to help, please let us know. If you are interested in taking up advising us when big nasty corporations come and threaten us, we'd kiss your feet.

Grant Writers on 1/1/1999
Well, we're just getting started here, but it wouldn't hurt to start a fund raising plan. If you'd like to contribute to that, if you have a great idea of some philanthropists who are dying to give some money to a cool project like ours, or have any suggestions along these lines, please do! People wanting to gain experience in grant writing are welcome.

Wanna donate a cool script that you think we might find useful? Please do as long as it's not gonna ruin our server! Our technology plans are quite elaborate. We'll be needing people to help us build interfaces to databases and set up a decent bulletan board system. We wanna put news stories on the front page. We'll need tools to help us manage adding content to the site.

Your Permissions on 4/3/1999
As you log in, it is determined what you have permission to do. If you are the main editor for a section, you will see four tables and if you aren't you might just see two.
Submitted by

The four Tables on 4/3/1999
The four tables you see if you are the topic administer are titled, "Select an Article to Edit", "Change your category headings", "Configure Pages", and "Select an Editor to Edit". To edit stuff you click on the hyperlinks in those tables, change things on the form that follows, press save and then you'll be back to the main admin page with the four tables again.

The Select an Article to Edit table on 4/3/1999
From this table you can do two types of things. Thus the hyperlinks on the far left and right of this table. We'll start with the right. Clicking on an item in the "Title" column will allow you to edit the content and associated documentation of that entry. Clicking on an item in the "Topic" column will allow you to change the status of the article from live to archived, will allow you to select or create an area within your site to assign it to, allow you to rank your article for placement on the pages it appears on, and finally choose if you'd like to have the article appear on more than one page within your section.

What's that little image next to the dates? on 4/8/1999
The little image is actually an image of a book with a bookmark in it. You can click on it and you'll see the submission on a page that you can bookmark and return to later. So it doesn't matter if we move it around on the site, you should always be able to find a piece of content that interested you. If you want to send the url for a single submission to someone, it's a good idea to click on the image so that it's more likely the person you are sending it to will see the content you wanted them to.
