I launched bagus.org version 2.2 today... It's got some amazing new stuff to help support the global tibet support group database that Dan is planning.

Mainly the big project was to make limitless depth of content be possible by making each gsp file able to look at the settings for the gsp files in the directories above them and below them for interface elements and directory names. Before all the gsp files operated independently from each other and could only have three levels of navigation heirarchy. Now, you can control the appearance of a whole directory tree from one place! It's pretty great.

This all got me involved in fixing the security on the back end. I built this application file called checkValidation.gsp that makes sure the id of the content or page an editor is trying to modify was assigned to to the directory or subdirectory where a editor has permission. That's better!

I also messed with the "page titles" and made them directory aware and somewhat breadcrumb ish... I made it so you can put a navigation piece right down the middle of the page.

Oh, right, I also made bagus.org be able to double as a contact database. We've been using this for the tibet database. I think it's pretty cool.

Anyways, that touched 25 out of the 51 bagus.org sub application files. It was a big change.

Now with even more bug fixes in place. Write me if you see more.

And last but not least, the server is moving again this week and I'm off to the Cayman Islands til Friday, so expect some down time!

I think next month will finally bring more attention to the editors interface and help systems...
